What does TCAA do?

President's Message

  • TCAA publishes a newsletter "Tornado Connections" at least three times per year.  It includes interesting articles by and about TC graduates, remembrances of times past,  alumni events and information about current activities within the school system.

  • TCAA makes available replicas of every current and former academic building in the Tiffin City School district including the stadium.  Replicas

  • TCAA provides assistance to reunion committees at no charge.

  • TCAA offers an alternative source of funding for organizations within the school system having no other source of funding. We like to think of the Alumni Association as an "All Schools Booster" organization. To be considered for funding by TCAA, the requesting party must complete an application and present it to the Board.  The TCAA Board of Trustees will then vote on each request.  TCAA has contributed either in full or partially to the following:

Creation of the TCAA Scholarship - Given for the first time in May of 1999, this scholarship

has been created to serve as an incentive for seniors to pass the senior proficiency test. A

$20 award will be given to each senior who passes all five sections of the test.

TC Academic Letter Breakfast - This annual breakfast honors Columbian students (and their parents) who have maintained a 3.5 or better cumulative average for 3 or more semesters.  The student receives a letter and subsequent bars that can be placed on a letter jacket.

Columbian Athletic Hall of Fame Program - TCAA assists this program which honors outstanding individuals who have fostered principles of competition, sportsmanship and scholarship while serving as role models to students.

Nature's Classroom - A 3-day outdoor camping experience for 5th graders from participating schools.  TCAA's donations are in the form of scholarships, so that no student is denied the privilege of attending,  Classes at the camp are chosen by their teachers and are based on the 5th-grade curriculum.
